Mime figuration as taught at SKH is primarily based on the “The actor who thinks with their body” (Den kroppsligt tänkande skådespelaren) method. The roots of this method stem from Tomaszewski mime, curated and further developed by the mime artist Professor Stanislaw Brosowski. Technical elements/training, as well as creative elements/étude work are included in the subject.
Mime-based theatrical figuration consists of basic fundamental training in motion creation/choreography, the movement’s interaction with text and different methods of theatrical figuration/performative staging vis-à-vis voice in theatrical performance. This will also include to some extent dramaturgy for motion-based performing arts.
You work with teaching and supervision of mime performance students and theatrical acting students in mime-based theatrical figuration as well as provide academic supervision and follow the artistic development of the mime performance students in mime figuration

As an assistant lecturer you will have an important role in the work of building a common culture of openness and collaboration at SKH, as well as in the creation of a good work environment.
In order to be eligible for the position of assistant lecturer you have to demonstrate teaching skills, have a degree from a recognised tertiary institution or equivalent skills that are significant with reference to the content of the subject and the duties included in the position.

You have undergone training in teaching in higher education, or expect to do so within the next three years, or have in some other documented manner acquired equivalent knowledge.
The scope of employment is eighty percent of a full-time position and it is a fixed period of five years, after which the period of the employment must be renewed. However, the total period of the employment may not exceed more than ten years. Employment to commence at the earliest date August 2021.
