We welcome your application for the position of Assistant Professor of Dance with a Specialization in Contemporary Dance
We are looking for a candidate who wants to teach and supervise at first-cycle and second-cycle levels in the Teacher Education Programme in Dance - in Upper Secondary Education and the Bachelor Programme in Dance Pedagogy. You will also work on developing existing and new courses and programs. Your tasks will also include course administration, participation in the department’s development work and both internal and external cooperation. Monitoring developments in your own subject discipline and society as a whole that may impact on your work at the university is an additional part of your duties.
As an assistant professor, you must have a broad artistic practice as well as a deep theoretical understanding of your artistic area. You are expected to engage in and lead artistic research work and be able to critically reflect on the artistic processes that are part of your teaching.

As an assistant professor you will have an important role in the work of building a common culture of openness and collaboration at SKH, as well as in the creation of a good work environment. You may be offered assignments or responsibility for study programmes or specialisations, board appointments, and be afforded the time and opportunity to pursue artistic research.
In order to be eligible for the position of assistant professor in the artistic discipline you have to demonstrate both artistic and teaching expertise within the field of contemporary dance. We are looking for a candidate who has experience of teaching contemporary dance at an advanced level and who is interested in developing methods in dance education and dance didactics.

Detailed information regarding qualifications and assessment criteria for teaching appointments is stated in Chapter 4 Sections 3 and 4 of the Swedish Higher Education Ordinance.
The work tasks require experience of artistic practice within dance with a specialization in contemporary dance. In addition, you have those personal abilities required to competently fulfil the appointment and to be able to represent the university in a manner beneficial to the organisation.

You have undergone training in teaching in higher education, or expect to do so within the next three years, or have in some other documented manner acquired equivalent knowledge.
The scope of employment is 50 percent of a full-time position and it is a fixed period of five years, after which the period of the employment must be renewed. However, the total period of the employment may not exceed more than ten years. Employment to commence at the earliest date January 15, 2021.
