We are looking for someone with the desire to teach, conduct research, supervise and at all levels of Dramaturgy for film and media.
As an Assistant Professor, you will need have both considerable artistic practice experience and a Deep theoretical understanding of your chosen artistic discipline. You will be expected to engage in and drive artistic research and be able to critically reflect on the artistic processes incorporated in your teaching.
The Department of Film and Media offers education in dramaturgy at both first and second-cycle levels, and for students in all programmes. As a teacher and supervisor in dramaturgy, you develop the students’ practical ability to utilise all dramaturgical tools in order to analyse their own and others’ artistic work, as well as their understanding of the role of film and media in the surrounding society. Your broad outlook and strategic ability contribute to a renewal and deepening of the subject of dramaturgy at the department.

You have an important role in the work of building a common culture of openness and collaboration at the Stockholm University of the Arts as well as being involved in the creation of a good working environment. You may be offered assignments such as programme or specialisation coordinator. You may receive these assignments and also be allocated time for artistic research. To actively pursue artistic research at the Stockholm University of the Arts means that you develop your own research, participate in different ways in the research projects of others, seek external funding for development and research, and that you participate in, and contribute to the research environment, both at the department and at the Stockholm University of the Arts in general.
As Assistant Professor, you will play an important role in creating a common culture of openness and collaboration with your colleagues at SKH, as well as being involved in the creation of a good working environment.

Detailed information regarding qualifications and assessment criteria for teaching appointments is stated in Chapter 4 Sections 3 and 4 of the Swedish Higher Education Ordinance.
The duties require you to have an active artistic practice in dramaturgy for film and media. You should otherwise possess the personal abilities required to perform the duties effectively and to be able to represent the university in a manner that benefits the operation.
In addition, you must be able to communicate in Swedish at a high level, both orally and in writing, as well as communicate in English at a high level, both orally and in writing.

You have undergone teaching in higher education training (or expect to do so within the next three years) or in some other documented manner acquired equivalent knowledge.
About the position
The scope of the employment is 30 percent of full-time and is limited to five years. The employment period may be extended. The total employment period may not exceed ten years however. Admission on 01/08/2019, or according to agreement.
