We are looking for those who would like to work with teaching and supervision of students and follow the artistic development of each individual student. The employment also includes administrative work such as planning, scheduling, course development and course evaluation.

At the Department of Film and Media, we educate students through practical exercises that provide them with a stable foundation for working in their chosen careers. An important part of this today, is to understand and relate to post-production. Today, the post-production process begins in pre-production, and many choices need to be made early on in the artistic process. As a lecturer in post-production, you teach students in both overall production flows as well as in more practical and technical elements of the process.

Your duties also require you to:

  • Be responsible for developing functioning post-production processes at the department
  • Teach and supervise students in various aspects of post-production processes such as pre-production, DIT, grade, visual effects and graphics, delivery and archiving.
  • Be responsible, in cooperation with the Technical Coordinator, for ensuring that the technical equipment and the software used within the post-production process are functional and updated
  • Plan supervision in technical equipment and technical elements in collaboration with the Technical Coordinator and teachers at the department
  • Participate in developing existing and new courses and programs in relation to other specialisations at the department.
  • Work with course administration, participate in the departments’ development work and collaborate, both internally within the Stockholm University of the Arts and with external parties.
  • Actively contribute to the development in post-production and social development in general, which is an important part of the university’s work.
  • Contribute to the development of the Stockholm University of the Art’s education and research, and promote integration between these areas.

We are looking for those who have shown pedagogical skills within the subject of post-production.

You must otherwise possess the personal abilities required to perform the duties effectively, and to be able to represent the university in a manner that benefits the operation.

In addition, you must be able to communicate well both orally and in writing, both in Swedish and English.

 

Assessment criteria

The following assessment criteria shall be assessed in order of priority;

  • Pedagogical skills; demonstrated pedagogical skills in artistic contexts within or outside of the university
  • Documented experience of teaching in various post-production processes
  • Documented experience of teaching in Colour Grading.
  • Documented knowledge of the technical equipment and the software that belong to post production processes at the Stockholm University of the Arts
  • Documented experience of different types of teaching and examination formats, as well as the ability to develop and implement high quality education.
  • Demonstrated administrative skills
  • Ability to describe your teaching and your pedagogical approach
  • Documented strong collaborative ability

You must have training in learning and teaching in higher education, or be expected to complete such a course within the next three years, or in some other documented way have acquired the corresponding knowledge.

About the position

The scope of the employment is 100% full-time and is limited to five years. The employment period may be extended. The total employment period may not exceed ten years however. Start date 2019-09-01.
