We are looking for someone with the desire to teach, conduct research, supervise and at all levels of film directing and visualisation in film and media.
As an Assistant Professor, you will need have both considerable artistic practice experience and a deep theoretical understanding of your chosen artistic discipline. You will be expected to engage in and drive artistic research and be able to critically reflect on the artistic processes incorporated in your teaching. The moving picture is gaining more space in the everyday life of people and you convey both opportunities and responsibilities associated with this. As an Associate Professor of cinematography, you will actively follow developments in your subject area and overall social trends that are significant to the work within the field of art at the college

You may be offered assignments such as committee tasks, programme or specialist responsibilities, as well as being prepared for artistic research within your employment. To actively pursue artistic research work at SKH means that you will develop your own research, participate in the research projects of others in different ways, apply for external funding for development and research and participate in and contribute to the research environment both at the department and at SKH in general.
The courses and study programmes and research environment at the institution are undergoing significant development and there are great possibilities for you to participate and develop the activities for a future film and media market.
As Associate Professor, you will play an important role in creating a common culture of openness and collaboration with your colleagues at SKH, as well as being involved in the creation of a good working environment.

Detailed information regarding qualifications and assessment criteria for teaching appointments is stated in Chapter 4 Sections 3 and 4 of the Swedish Higher Education Ordinance.
The work tasks require that you have an active artistic practice in film cinematography. You should otherwise have the personal abilities needed to carry out the employment well and be able to represent the college so as to benefit the business.
You must have a very good ability to express yourself in Scandinavian and English languages in both speech and writing

About the position
The scope of the employment is 100% of full-time and is for a fixed term of 5 years, after which the employment may be renewed. However, the maximum overall period of employment is ten years. Start date 01/08/2019.
