We are looking for a candidate who wants to teach and supervise at first-cycle and second-cycle levels. You will work on developing existing and new courses and programmes. As an Assistant Professor, you may be assigned additional tasks such as board assignments or responsibility for study programmes or specialisations. You will receive the opportunity to allocate time to artistic research equivalent to five percent of a full-time position, which presupposes that you have experience of artistic development or research. Your tasks will also include course administration, participation in the department’s development work and both internal and external cooperation. Monitoring developments in your own subject discipline and society as a whole that are significant to your work at the university is an additional part of your duties.
As an Assistant Professor you will take part in the development of education and research and the overall development of Uniarts. You will have a key role in work to build a joint culture of openness and cooperation at Uniarts and you will help create a healthy work environment.
You are a pianist and a vocal coach and some leading responsibility will be a part of your work tasks.
We are looking for a candidate who has demonstrated both artistic and teaching skills.
Artistic skill at Assistant Professor level means having broad and deep knowledge of your artistic field (equivalent to a doctoral degree). You must have demonstrated a good ability to develop and conduct artistic research and development of high quality, or have demonstrated equivalent skills in artistic contexts outside of the university.
Teaching skill at Assistant Professor level means that you have demonstrated teaching skill in artistic contexts within or outside the university. You have the ability to develop and conduct teaching of high quality at various levels, and participation in linking first-cycle and second-cycle education to research. Alternatively, you must have demonstrated equivalent skills in artistic contexts outside the university.
You have worked professionally as vocal coach with musical interpretation and have experience of teaching at university level. We attach importance to that you have the ability to contribute to the development of new courses and programs, and that you have a personal experience of artistic research or development.
Your tasks require you to conduct active professional artistic work in the area of Musical Performance. In addition, you must have the personal abilities needed to perform your duties
You must have completed training in teaching at university level or are expected to complete such a course within the next three years. Alternatively, you must have documented equivalent knowledge.

The permanent employment is fifty percent of a full-time position. Starting date: January 1st 2018 or on agreement.
